Understanding Travel Credits

Travel Credits on ITILITE are essentially unused flight ticket credits. When a flight ticket booked through ITILITE is canceled, and the airline issues a credit instead of a refund, ITILITE tracks these as "unused flight credits." These credits can then be applied to eligible future flight bookings, helping you manage your company's travel expenses efficiently.

The applicability of these credits depends on several factors, including the airline, the traveler, and the credit's expiry date. ITILITE automatically identifies and displays applicable credits during your booking process.

Applying Travel Credits to a Booking

When you are booking a new flight through ITILITE, the system will automatically check for any applicable Travel Credits.

Here’s how they are applied:

  • During Flight Selection: On the flight options or "Select Options" screen, if applicable credits are found, you will see a View flight credits or Add flight credits option.
  • Selecting Credits: Clicking this option opens a "Select flight credits" screen. Here, you can view each available credit, including the airline name, sector (e.g., MCO–SJU), credit expiry date, and the employee name against whom the credit is stored. You can then select one or more credits to apply to your new booking.
  • Confirmation: Once selected and you proceed to the "Confirm Package" screen, the system will mark these credits as applied against the new ticket. The effective price you pay for the new ticket will be reduced by the value of the applied credits, subject to airline rules and any change fees.

Pro-Tips & Guardrails

NOTE: Travel Credits are airline-dependent. Only credits from an airline matching your new flight's itinerary will be shown as available. If your trip involves multiple airlines, credits from any of those airlines may be applicable.
PRO-TIP: If an employee has left the company, their unused credits can be made available for use by anyone else within the company. This ensures that valuable credits are not lost.
NOTE: Travel Credits are not applicable for guest travelers (those without a staff profile) and are generally designed for business travel, not personal trips.

Verification & FAQs

After applying Travel Credits to a booking, you will see the updated price reflecting the credit's value on the "Confirm Package" screen. The credits list will also update to reflect the used credits.
